Grandma Mickey, released in 2005, is an album of thirteen original compositions, many of which are based on the songs that birds sing. Some of the compositions quote snippets of birdsong. Other compositions are based entirely on birdsong. The ensuing improvisation explores the relationship between birdsong and music.

During the two years prior to the recording sessions, the musicians on Grandma Mickey regularly worked together in New York jazz clubs, shaping and refining the music. The result is a cohesive, focused album filled with darting melodies, impassioned improvisation and pensive explorations.

Some of the birdsong upon which the compositions are based is included at the end of the CD. The booklet accompanying the CD contains information about these birds.

Pojo, released in 2003, is an album of seven original compositions. The quintet is an extension of two quartets that Jeff Silverbush led in the mid and late 1990's. One quartet played 54 songs by Thelonious Monk. The other, "Speak No Evil," played 17 songs by Wayne Shorter. Each quartet worked regularly in New York and each appeared as part of the 1998 JVC Jazz Festival.

"It is no surprise that there is a strong sense of chemistry between the players; the material was road-tested on dozens of gigs before the group went into the studio. The interplay between Silverbush and Fiedler is especially evident on the title track, where things break down into an impressive sax-trombone duet where each instrument sometimes leads, sometimes follows."
